
The Schümli is a customary coffee beverage in Switzerland and is also prepared at home, i.e. the fully automatic coffee machine has been an established feature of every Swiss kitchen for many years. In addition to the classic espresso, these fully automatic coffee machines also produce the Schümli. The name likely comes from the Swiss-German word Schäumli, which refers to the light cream produced by the machines during preparation.
