360° Coffee Expertise for Pronto Employees

Japanese café and bar chain “Pronto” is one of our most important customers in the Asian market. The company has been using Schaerer coffee machines for many years to serve customers coffee specialities of the highest quality for that personal moment of pure enjoyment.

At the end of last year, Pronto employees took part in the “360° Coffee Expertise” course in our Coffee Competence Centre (CCC) in Zuchwil for the first time. They can use the knowledge learned in this course to prepare coffee beverages as well as pass it on to their colleagues.

As the name suggests, Pronto’s speciality is Italian cuisine. While mainly pasta dishes are served at lunch, cappuccinos, latte macchiatos and the like are essential at breakfast time. The consistently high quality of the different coffee specialities is ensured by the powerful technology of our machines — the Pronto 250 Schaerer Coffee Soul was recently ordered to replace part of the existing Schaerer Coffee Art Plus fleet. However, as coffee expertise is just as important as technology for preparing the perfect cup of coffee, Pronto sent a group of its employees to Zuchwil on the recommendation of Shigehiko Shiga, Head of the Coffee Machine Division at Japanese dealer Kitazawa. In the one-day “360° Coffee Expertise” course, they received extensive insight into the world of coffee and its preparation. Practical exercises and tips stimulated every sense and gave the employees the chance to see coffee and its preparation with new eyes.

Everyone was thrilled with the unique combination of coffee expertise, technical proficiency and individualised support. Shigehiko Shiga had this to say: “The course was amazing! From the professional direction by Monika Oeggerli to the pleasant atmosphere in the Coffee Competence Centre — everything was great. The contents of the course were also perfectly suited to our level of expertise”. In the future, he wants to regularly visit the CCC together with Pronto employees so that as many of them as possible can build on their knowledge. He would also like to expand his own expertise in order to pass it on. He is very impressed by the successful implementation of the training in the Pronto branches, and he immediately invited Monika Oeggerli to visit Japan so she can see it for herself.
