125 years of Schaerer AG

2017 is a special jubilee year. This is because, precisely 125 years ago in 1892, on the threshold of the 20th century, Maurice Schaerer laid the foundation for today's Schaerer AG with a small retail shop. Although the initial focus was on medical devices instead of fully automatic coffee machines at the Barista standard, the technical expertise, knowledge and the engineering skills needed to develop operating tables, sterilisation and disinfection equipment proved to be the cornerstone of today's company many years later.

In 1924, Schaerer followed the contemporary longing for luxury and enjoyment born of the deprivations of the First World War and developed a first coffee machine of his own, the high-volume coffee brewer. This decision was the starting signal for numerous developments, innovations and milestones over decades up to the present day.

Together with its customers and partners, Schaerer wants to continue to successfully stimulate, shape and leave its mark on the coffee industry in the future.
