The Old Elb Tunnel

The old Elbe Tunnel lies beneath the river Elbe, directly adjacent to the St. Pauli district. It is an extremely old architectural masterpiece, which was built in the year 1907 and has been used since 1911. At that time, it was the shortest way to reach the city and to cross the river by car.

The construction work is really quite astonishing!
